GUYANA Football Federation has shortlisted 26 players to commence encampment for selection to represent Guyana in the CFU Group D qualifier which is scheduled to be hosted in St Vincent from August 4, 2012. The squad will be under the technical staff of former national forward Bryan Joseph, who will have Joseph ‘Bill’ Wilson as his assistant.
This successful duo was in charge of the Golden Jaguars’ second tier team at the just concluded Parbo Bier Football Cup tournament in Suriname, with Wilson being the head coach and Joseph his assistant.
Apart from the duo, Andrew Hazel will serve as the goalkeeper coach, Herbert McPherson as the developmental coach and Anson Ambrose is the Physical Trainer with the manager yet to be named.
Guyana will face hosts St Vincent, Suriname and Trinidad & Tobago in the Group D where four teams from Central America and five from the Caribbean will qualify to the 2013 CONCACAF Under-20 Championship to be played in Mexico; in addition to hosts Mexico, the United States and Canada who will automatically qualify for the competition.
The 26-man squad reads: Jonvano Dos Santos, Darius Frank, Cleon Dorris, Dennis Edwards (goalkeepers), Les Charles Critchlow, Aubrey Green, Dellon Wilburg, Nikel Frazer (central defenders), Ashley Ardin, Alden Benjamin (left defenders), Ron Liken, Joshua Browne (right defenders), Daniel Wilson, Dominique Garnett, Jermain Junor, Keon Norville, (central midfielders), Treyon Bobb, Pernel Shultz,(left midfielders) Aldrin Edwards, Devon James, (right midfielders), Jamaal Booker, Jeffrey Pereira, Randolph Wagner, Andrea Hector (forwards) and Malcolm Wilson, Emmet Leacock (development players).
