THE latest victim of the carnage on the roads is Suresh Jagmohan, 18, of Belvedere, Corentyne, Berbice. Police said that at about 03:30 hrs on Tuesday, June 12 last, this pedal cyclist attempted to cross the Republic Road in New Amsterdam, Berbice and was struck down by a motor cycle driven by Sheldon Sampson, 26, of Angoy’s Avenue, New Amsterdam.
Both men were injured after the accident, and were both admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPHC), where Suresh Jagmohan later succumbed.
