THE Machinery Corporation of Guyana Limited (MACORP) hosted its official launch of the new Cat Product Link at the International Conference Centre, Liliendal, East Coast Demerara last Friday. Present at the occasion was the chairman of MACORP, Alex Graham; General Manager/ Director, Jorge Medina; Prime Minister, Samuel Hinds; and members of the Diplomatic Corps.
The company’s main focus in launching this product is for owners of Caterpillar machinery and equipment to know where they are, what they are doing and how they are performing at any given moment.
The all new CAT Product Link helps to get information to the right people at just the right time. It assists the owner of any CAT equipment for the machine to maximize efficiency, raise productivity and lower owning and operating costs.
It is said to be good for business owners of equipment to protect their investment by knowing the location of these valuable assets, what they are doing and how they are performing.
The CAT Product Link is a remote monitoring system featuring robust new cellular hardware and an intuitive web based user interface called Vision link which provides the information owners need to know, to effectively manage their machines.
In addition to the conventional benefits of product link, owners will have access to valuable information.
New functionality includes management of maintenance by mileage, engine and transmission PTO usage updates, alerts for loss of main battery power, notification of non authorized movement during “key off” intervals and access to odometer readings.
Delivering the feature address was Prime Minister, Samuel Hinds who stated that he is pleased that MACORP is bringing the latest technologies to Guyana and expressed his gratitude to those who have supported MACORP.
He said that MACORP has always been a major help to Guyana in relations to construction and infrastructure.
He noted that by implementing this new technology to CAT machines, one will find themselves with much less difficulty when it comes to locating and monitoring their machinery. He observed that most of the machines used in Guyana are the CAT brand.
At the conference centre, the guests were invited to examine the various displays of CAT machinery and a demonstration of how the New CAT Product Link is used was also provided for invitees.
