Man remanded for stealing GNIC transformer worth $350,000

DENNIS Abrams (no address given), who is facing a previous larceny charge, was remanded to prison yesterday, when he appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton, charged similarly. He was not required to plea to the indictable offence, particulars of which alleged that, on May 27, he stole a $350,000 transformer, property of Guyana National Industrial Corporation (GNIC).
Police Corporal Simone Payne, prosecuting, successfully objected to bail for the accused, pointing out that the other case is still pending.
Abrams will make another court on June 14.
