EZjet makes donation to RHTYSC

GUYANA’S leading youth and sports organisation, Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club (RHTY&SC) last weekend received a major boost when EZjet came on board as an official sponsor. The airline donated an airline ticket to the Club which would enable the Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster to travel to New York, and also contributed US$500 ($100 000) to the Club’s Anti-Drugs and Pro-Education campaigns.
At the presentation, Foster stated that he would be visiting the New York area from June 30 to July 21, 2012 to meet overseas-based supporters of the Club and to form new alliances, as the club seeks to expand its range of activities for youths, the elderly and the less fortunate.
He expressed gratitude to the management and staff of EZjet and welcomed them to the elite list of sponsors of the club.
The veteran secretary added that the club is still recovering from a multi-million-dollar robbery and the visit to New York would seek to raise funds to replace gifts and prizes for programmes such as the Tribute to Teachers, Annual Cricket Academy, Tribute to Heroes, Grade 6 Summer Camp, Lower Corentyne Outstanding Students Awards and assistance to less fortunate students.
Country Operations Manager of the airline Ms. Rosalinda Rasul, in making the donation to the club, stated that her Company was pleased to be associated with such a dynamic Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) which was making a positive contribution to society.
She wished the Club the best and pledged the airline’s assistance in the future, while disclosing the opening of a ticket office in the township.
