EWART George (no address given) was remanded to prison yesterday, by Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton, on a charge of discharging a loaded firearm with intent.
He is charged, indictably, with having on March 19 last, discharged a loaded gun at Gregory Nickel with intent to maim, disfigure or cause him grievous bodily harm. Police Corporal Simone Payne, prosecuting, said the accused and another person went into the virtual complainant’s yard and, the latter, having seen shadows, ventured outside his house to verify.  
The prosecutor said George fired shots in the direction of Nickel, hitting him on his right hand and she, successfully objected to bail, based on the seriousness of the offence.
The accused will make another appearance on June 4.
