KURT Sumner was remanded to prison, by Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton yesterday, on a drug trafficking charge. The defendant (no address given) pleaded guilty to having, on May 12, had 195 grammes of cannabis (marijuana) in his possession for the purpose.
Police Corporal Simone Payne, prosecuting, said ranks were conducting an exercise and went to the defendant’s house behind which they found a yellow plastic bag containing leaves, seeds and stems of the prohibited plant.
The prosecutor said the defendant admitted that the narcotic belonged to him and he was arrested.
