Sophia miner remanded for possession of narcotics

SOPHIA Miner, Martin Barne appeared before Sparendaam Magistrate, Alex Moore yesterday, charged with two counts of possession of a narcotic for the purpose of trafficking; whereby it was alleged that on April 12, at Sophia, he was caught with a total of two hundred and twenty-two grammes of cannabis. Represented by Attorney-at-Law, Sonia Parag, Barne pleaded not guilty to the charges.
He was, however, remanded to prison, and would next appear in court on April 30.
