Husband arrested for chopping wife
A MOTHER of three, 35-year-old Simone Richie was admitted to the Suddie Hospital on Easter Monday, after she was chopped, allegedly, by her husband. It was reported that the woman, of Danielstown, was with her daughter, Sophie, relaxing on the seawall at around 08:00 hrs when she was unexpectedly attacked with a cutlass.
Richie and her husband, along with several friends had attended an Easter Fest show at Anna Regina Community Centre ground, also on the Essequibo Coast, Sunday night.
But, after returning home, they got involved in a heated argument that continued through early Monday morning.
Reports said Richie went to the seawall, located close to her home, to escape from him and her husband chased her with the cutlass, dealt her several chops and hit her in the head, which caused her to collapse and fall to the ground.
Another woman saw what was happening and quickly alerted the police, who responded promptly and arrested the attacker.
The latter is expected to be charged shortly.
