Carmichael takes ASC to top of points table

MALTEENOES Sports Club’s Kellon Carmichael continued his impressive showing for his adopted club Aranguez Sports Club (ASC) in the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB) two- day national league championship last weekend. Competing against Santa Cruz on their home ground, ASC won the toss and invited their Santa Cruz to take first strike and thanks to Carmichael’s 5 for 14, bowled out their hosts for 112, with Rakesh Seecharran offering Carmichael support with his 4 for 32.
In reply, ASC were bowled out for 264 in which Rohan Parsram 72 and Akeem Chandler 49 were the main contributors.
Armed with a comfortable 152 runs first-innings lead, ASC who were indebted to Dion Ferrier – another MSC player who took 3 for 32, Carmichael 2 for 26 and Seecharran with 2 for 29 – bowled out Santa Cruz for 131 to earn themselves an innings and 21-run victory.
The 22-year-old Carmichael, who ended with a match-haul of 7 for 40, was named man-of-the-match. ASC with the win moved to the top of the points table with 55 points at the completion of three of nine rounds in the 10-team competition.
