A website specific to Guyanese needs
MALACKEE Yisrael, the Managing Director of 1opt website, along with five other partners, has successfully created a website to service Guyana, providing full access to information on the basic needs of all Guyanese. Launched on March 1 with offices on Lime Street, Werk-en-Rust, the website has been described by Mr. Yisrael as an “Ease for Guyanese”, whereby one central website provides a variety of things of interest.
He added that the website was designed to provide full access to information on the basic needs of all Guyanese, such as housing, jobs, shopping, transportation, communication etc, and to also provide insight into the lives of positive role models/personalities from among our own Guyanese community, as they share tips and principles on how they became successful.
Mr. Yisrael noted that the website 1opt is also designed to promote positive and inspirational ideas to uplift the thinking of our people and ultimately their way of life, and also to provide efficient and effective service to our business community, being the medium between customer and supplier.
He said, “Most importantly, to create comfort and ease in the way you find your dream job, home, or that perfect dress you need for that special occasion,

Mr. Yisrael pointed out that the response has so far have been encouraging, and people have been asking for more. They will have more pages, such as health tips, among others, in which persons will get a good, informative read.
He explained that all advertisements on the website, including vacancies, are free of cost to advertisers, and everything on the website is local, Guyanese-oriented.
Mr. Yisrael added that the website is updated on a daily basis, and they are hoping to expand into more areas shortly, since the website is new. They will seek ways to improve it as well as make it user-friendly.
The website features Fashion and Arts, under which has the designers’ closet, artist/designers/portfolio, and the movement of modern arts.
On the real estate page, one can access an agent, Central Housing and Planning Authority (CH&PA) tips and building information.
The job page has vacancies, job hunt strategies, as well as information on application and interviews.
