Good approach by government

CONGRATULATIONS to the government for coming to what I believe is a real proactive approach to governance. The Finance Minister’s disclosure of details on the various projects to opposition leaders in a special meeting, and to the press is overdue and welcomed. Waiting for a final agreement or a special time to disclose project information is counter-productive.
It only leads to misinformation and negative comments, and charges that contribute to the public unease and suspicions. This approach could have been done sooner without disclosing any sensitive information on various projects with periodic updates when possible.
The government in the past took too long, if ever, to fully respond to various charges leveled against them. No charge regardless of the source should be treated with disdain or as simply political.
The public deserves answers based on facts and evidence if they are to know the truth about issues. A government that is prepared to investigate charges to determine if true or not and willing to admit mistakes and correct them, is the government people not only want but are proud to vote for.

Perhaps, the Home Affairs Minister will realize that it is best to ensure that all the $90 million to the GPF was indeed spent as allocated with the proper receipts to prove it. It would be real reassuring if the minister would allow the Commander to explain in a public news conference why he made his charges in spite of a check signed by him. As they say, the public has a right to know what really happened. Just saying.
