Chase-Green intruder remanded on robbery, wounding charges

THE man who is alleged to have invaded the home of Georgetown Deputy Mayor Patricia Chase-Green and robbed the family at gunpoint appeared in court yesterday.
Shem Tyndall, 23, was remanded to prison on charges of robbery under arms and unlawful wounding.
The defendant (no address given) made his appearance before Magistrate Allan Wilson and particulars of two offences said, on March 10, being armed with a gun, he robbed Chase-Green of items valued a total of $756,000 and Abiola Waterman of property worth $260,000.
He also pleaded not guilty to unlawfully and maliciously wounding Terrence Green.
Police Corporal Jairam Luckhai, prosecuting, successfully objected to bail, based on the prevalence and seriousness of the offences and stating that, if allowed pre-trial freedom, Tyndall is likely to commit other crimes.
The cases will be called, again, on March 19.
