President Ramotar to chair first stakeholder engagement today

PRESIDENT Donald Ramotar will be chairing his first engagement with the National Stakeholders’ Forum at his Office today. Head of the Presidential Secretariat, Dr. Roger Luncheon, at his weekly post-Cabinet press briefing yesterday, said that the Guyanese Head of State had also invited the Leader of the Opposition to meet him to address outstanding constitutional and statutory matters that warranted such consultations.
These include statutory appointments to bodies such as the Guyana National Broadcasting Authority (GNBA), and the Advisory Committee on Broadcasting (ACB).
The National Stakeholders’ Forum, which was originally inaugurated by former President Bharrat Jagdeo, brings together representatives of civil society, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and other bodies at periodic intervals for familiarisation of government’s policies and programmes and encouragement of dialogue and feedback.
