THE Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) recently named two elite junior squads as it forges ahead with preparation for the upcoming Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Inter-county tournaments at the Under-15 and Under-19 levels. The BCB over the last four weeks organised four clinics for fast bowlers, wicketkeepers, batsmen and spinners along with coaching sessions around the entire county. A one-day cricket academy was also organised in the West Berbice area.
Chairman of the Junior Selection Committee, Leslie Solomon, and the coaches involved in the programme selected the squad which is to start intense preparation and coaching every week.
Chairman of the Berbice Cricket Board Special Events Committee, Hilbert Foster, stated that the lists are not final, as more cricketers will be added based on performances in the upcoming Berbice Under-15 and Under-19 Inter-club and Inter-zone tournaments.
He disclosed that the squad will train every week under coaches Michael Hyles Franco, Winston Smith and Julian Moore.
The Elite junior training programme would be launched on Sunday, March 4, 2012, at the Area ‘H’ Ground in Rose Hall Town.

The squads named are:

Under-15 – Shimron Hetmyer, Leon Andrews, Keirre Henry, Deon Esau, Ashkay Homraj, Rishi Persaud, Brandon Persaud, Mahendra Mangal, Balchand Baldeo, Daniel Lewis, Parmanand Ramdhan, Richard Henry, Grisean Grant, Clifton Lindie, Karran Singh, Javid Seecharran, Tyrone Pooranauth, Jason Anderson, Kassim Khan, Gavin Moriah, Joshua Giddings, Enoch Carmichael, Vadanand Sugrim, Naren Ramoo, Joshua Rollins, Joshua Harrichand, Akeem Miller, Emanuel Seecharran, Mohan Deodat and Avishkar Rabindradat.
