THE Thomas united FC 52nd Anniversary Mash Challenge Cup will resume on Tuesday in Linden with four Upper Demerara teams vying for two spots to showcase their skills in Georgetown. Tomorrow, Milerock will play Winners Connection at the Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC ground from 18.30hrs while ToppXX take on Amelia’s Ward in the feature match at 20.00hrs.
The real action gets cracking on Friday at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground when Pele play the winner of the Milerock/Winners Connection encounter.
This match will be followed by Thomas United taking on Victoria Kings. Leading Thomas United charge will be former National Under-20 midfielder Ovis ‘Young Haji’ Fraser, from Cayenne , Keith Goppy from Trinidad and Tobago and Jermaine Brown from Suriname.
Den Amstel and winner of Amelia’s Ward/Topp XX clash will play on March 7 at the GFC ground and play a return fixture on March 11.
South Georgetown favourites, Western Tigers, come up against Seawall United on March 7 and again on 11. The good news for soccer fans is that Alpha ‘The Hammer’ United join the fray at the quarter- final stage in the Challenge Cup against an opponent to be named.
