A MAN, who was arrested for careless use of his bicycle, was, instead, sentenced to two years imprisonment, last Friday, for cocaine possession. Frankie Baboolall, 35, of Lot 22 Main Street, Cumberland, pleaded guilty to the charge, before Magistrate Adela Nagamootoo, at New Amsterdam Court.
He had been riding along Betsy Ground Public Road, also in Canje, Berbice, on February 8, when police, on mobile patrol, stopped him and a search of his person yielded a red and white plastic bag which contained the narcotic.
