IN two separate searches on Monday and yesterday, police unearthed a quantity of cannabis sativa (marijuana) at Mabura and at Parika.
At about 16:30hrs on Monday, January 23, 2012, police ranks stopped and searched a minibus at a checkpoint at Mabura, and a bag containing 924 grammes of marijuana was found.
And at about 17:15hrs yesterday, police ranks at Bartica conducted a search on a boat which had arrived from Parika, and found a bag with 457 grammes of marijuana.
Several persons have been arrested in both matters, as police continue investigations.
