Four seriously injured in head-on collision

A HEAD-ON collision between two motorcars on the Den Amstel Public Road, West Coast Demerara, around 17:00hrs yesterday has resulted in four persons being injured. One man, the driver of a white Toyota Allion, sustained serious injuries to the head and other parts of the body and had to be rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital, while three others in the other vehicle, a silver grey Carina 212, late last night remained in the Intensive Care Unit of the West Demerara Regional Hospital.
Persons who witnessed the accident which happened just outside the Den Amstel Post Office, said that the vehicles were proceeding in opposite directions when the driver of the white Allion lost control as he was negotiating a dangerous bend, and crashed into the Carina 212.
Those travelling in the Carina 212 were identified only by their first names. They are the driver Anil, about 22, his mother, known as ‘Sugar Doll’, and his uncle known as Hardeen.
Meanwhile, the name of the driver of the other vehicle could not be ascertained.
Police are continuing their investigations.
