GUYANA’s premiere theatrical and performance facility, The Theatre Guild of Guyana, is setting to celebrate a year of accomplishments on Sunday evening. A release from the organisation stated: “The awards committee of the Theatre Guild of Guyana will be hosting its award ceremony for the year of 2012 at 19:00 hrs on Sunday.”
Nominees will be honoured at an award ceremony which is being hosted at its Playhouse at 115 Parade Street, Kingstown, Georgetown.
As part of its mandate, the not-for-profit non-governmental organisation (NGO), the Theatre Guild of Guyana, aims to nurture and train performers across the spectrum of the performing arts in Guyana and the region.
Founded in 1957 and opened in 1960, The Theatre Guild of Guyana’s Playhouse is the oldest theatrical and performance facility in Guyana and the second oldest in the Caribbean.
