Two Corentyne men abducted from home and brought to Georgetown

– later released by abductors at Berbice car park
TWO men were allegedly been abducted from a home at Tain, Corentyne, Berbice by five men who drove up in a car.
Police said that  around 23:15hrs on Monday, Marlon Ramcharran, 18, and Bisnauth Drepaul Singh, 21, were imbibing alcohol, along with three other men at Ramcharran’s home at Tain, Corentyne, when a car drove up and five men exited, one of whom was armed with a firearm.
The five reportedly entered the premises and enquired about the whereabouts of a man, of whom Marlon Ramcharran and the others had no knowledge.  At their response, the men forced Marlon Ramcharran and Bisnauth Drepaul Singh into their vehicle before driving away.
Marlon Ramcharran’s father informed the police, that  around 05:30 hrs yesterday, he received a phone call from his son (Marlon), stating that their abductors had released them at the Berbice car park in Georgetown.
The abducted men claim that during the journey to Georgetown, they were assaulted by the men, who kept enquiring about the man they were pursuing.
The police are continuing their investigations.
