Flirt Boutique hard hit by breakage

BANDITS carted off what is estimated to be in excess of one million dollars in brand name clothing, jewellery, electrical and electronic appliances including laptops, shoes and other items from the Flirt Boutique, a branch of the 499 Store located at Cummings and Charlotte Streets in Bourda, Georgetown.
Proprietor of the store, Christopher Hall, could not determine whether the incident had taken place on Tuesday or during the holidays. He said the discovery was made sometime after 10:00hrs yesterday morning, after he had arrived at the store to conduct a normal day’s business. “Upon arriving at the store this morning, I went to turn on the computer as usual… and one of the staff, Subrina, informed me that someone was in the store. That was sometime after ten,” he said.
According to Hall, apart from the grills and security cameras, the store has no other security measures in place; however, he is working to implement more effective security measures to protect the store. “When everything shut down, the camera goes off as well, so we couldn’t pick up anything,” he said.
He told the media that the bandits may have gained entry from the back of the building by cutting the grills that were in place there.
He declared this breakage a major setback for the business.
No one has as yet been arrested, but police have since commenced investigations into the robbery.
