Night Shelter resident bonded for threatening orderly
MICHAEL Khemraj, who pleaded guilty to using threatening language, was yesterday placed on a one year bond by Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton. Particulars of the Christmas Eve Day offence said it was committed when the defendant threatened Kelmattie Shaw, causing a breach of the peace.
Police sergeant, Gordon Mansfield, prosecuting, said Khemraj is a resident of the Night Shelter and the virtual complainant is an orderly there.
The prosecutor said Mansfield told Khemraj he could not enter the premises as he was under the influence of alcohol and he threatened to kill her. So, she became afraid and reported the threat.
After Khemraj begged to be treated with leniency and promised not to behave in such a manner again, he was bonded to keep the peace for one year.
