IAC takes Christmas cheer to Hope

THE Indian Arrival Committee (IAC) held a Christmas party Thursday for more than 60 children of Hope Estate, East Coast Demerara, treating them to a scrumptious meal and according them the privilege of each receiving a gift from the elusive Santa Claus. The event was held at the Hope Estate Primary School, where besides being entertained with music, the kids were also allowed to sit on Santa’s lap to have their photographs taken.
According to IAC executive member, Neaz Subhan, the organization has for the past five years been hosting similar exercises for less fortunate children in various parts of the country, with the help of other like-minded entities.
Last year, he said, the exercise was held on the Essequibo Coast, and the plan next year is to take it to as many communities as they can countrywide.
