BANK of Baroda’s plans to expand its operations with the establishment of a branch at Mon Repos on the East Coast of Demerara were explained to President Donald Ramotar when officials met him for a courtesy visit yesterday. Chief Executive, Dhimant Trivedi, Managing Director, Kumar Kala, and Chief Executive of the Offshore Banking Unit, Mukesh Wason, who comprised the visiting delegation, also spoke with the president on ways in which the bank can help in Guyana’s economic development.
Bank of Baroda has been in operation since Guyana gained independence from the British in 1966. Its current location is on Avenue of the Republic, Georgetown.
The bank was opened in 1908 in India and maintains a presence in 26 countries. In India alone, the Bank of Baroda operates out of 3,500 branches.
