POLICE have charged Ramdeo Kumar (no address given) following investigations into an August 11 fatal accident.
Before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry yesterday, he faced charges of causing death by dangerous driving, resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer.
The indictable causing death charge said, on August 11, at Lamaha and David Streets, Kitty, in Georgetown, he drove his motor vehicle in a manner dangerous to the public and caused the demise of Akeem Mohammed Moffat.
The summary charges, to which Kumar pleaded not guilty, said, the same day, he resisted arrest and assaulted a police officer who was acting in the execution of his duty.
On the applicaton by Defence Counsel Nigel Hughes, Kumar was granted $250,000 bail on all the charges, pending his return to court on December 16.
