Eccles resident wins HomeMakeover, in time for Christmas

ROBERT Alladin of Eccles, East Bank Demerara (EBD) is the grand prize winner in the third drawing of the Ashmins’ ‘Home Makeover’ promotion, held yesterday at that department store, Lot 48 High Street, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown.
He won the prize participating in a fun game called the ‘Balloon Hunt’, defeating the four other finalists of the third drawing.    Those finalists are: Tatiane Francis of Lamaha Gardens, Georgetown; Dwayne Middleton of Roxanne Burnham Gardens, Georgetown; Samantha Latchana of Diamond, EBD; and Shevon Thomas, of Sheriff Street, Campbellville, Georgetown, who all competed for the grand prize of the ‘Home Makeover’ valued up to $500,000. Aside from the grand prize, four other consolation prizes were awarded.
Public Relations Officer at Ashmins, Ms Rose Gunraj, yesterday, told the Chronicle that the first drawing’s winner, Kuntie Persaud of Sophia, Greater Georgetown, recently received her newly-renovated living room.
The second drawing’s winner, Patricia Benjamin of Grove, East Bank Demerara, also received a renovated living room and verandah.
The final drawing is slated for the last day in this month, she disclosed.
The ‘Balloon Hunt’ was a fun aspect of the promotion, in which the participants were required to make a 30-second entry into a tent containing balloons with prizes in some of them, and were each required to collect a balloon with the hope that it contained the grand prize.
Had any participant collected an empty balloon, Gunraj disclosed, management would have considered giving them another chance to collect another balloon.
The Ashmin’s Home Makeover promotion was launched on September 1, and customers could enter, once they spend $5000 or more.
