NOEL Seerattan was put on $50,000 bail yesterday, on a charge of unlawfully assaulting his son, Adolph Seerattan. The defendant appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, charged with committing the offence on November 21.
Police Corporal Jairam Luckhai, prosecuting, said the virtual complainant picked up his father’s cell phone without informing him.
Consequently, the defendant went to his son’s school and dealt him several cuffs, the prosecutor said.
But the defendant said he never cuffed his son. He complained that the latter steals his money and he only slapped him.
The case will be called, again, on December 5.
