DESMOND McPherson (no address given) was yesterday remanded to prison on an attempted murder charge.
Before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, he was charged, indictably, with having, last March 4, unlawfully and maliciously inflicted grievous bodily harm on Dexter Richards with intent to kill him.
Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, said the virtual complainant was in a shop when the accused approached him and asked if he was looking for someone to rob him.
The prosecutor said the accused then took a knife, stabbed the victim in his head and made good his escape.
Harvey said the police had difficulty in locating the accused and he objected to bail for him because of the likelihood that he may not return for trial.
The case will be called, again, on December 5.
