FRUTA Conquerors and the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) defeated their latest opponents Riddim Squad (RS) and University of Guyana (UG), on Wednesday night in the President Beer Super League at the GFC ground.
In the Georgetown Football Association (GFA)-organised event GFC defeated UG 2-1 in the curtain-raiser of the night which saw Conquerors dispose of RS 4-1 in the feature.
Tonight the action continues with another double as Police meet Charlestown at 18:00hrs then the night wraps up with Santos taking on Northern Rangers in the feature from 20.00hrs.
On Wednesday in the feature, junior National Player Marco Marcus rocked the back of the net twice (40th and 65th) along with help from his teammates Jermain Junor (35th) and Eon Alleyne (43rd) to power Conquerors to victory over the opposition.
Riddim Squad’s Amos Ramsey was the only scorer for his side but his goal proved futile as the regulation time whistle drew nearer.
In the other showdown, goals from GFC’s Teashaw Blackman (5th) and Cardel Tudor (25th) were enough to get them past UG whose Maurice Cummings scored their lone goal.
