President Jagdeo's Lusignan address was a statement of fact

WHEN President Jagdeo gave his pronouncement of Nigel Hughes, the repulsive Freddie Kissoon ran to his rescue. He accused the President of carrying out “an unbridled assault on the character of attorney Nigel Hughes”, a prominent and upright citizen. In his article he openly insinuated that the President was out to get certain individuals by mounting a smear campaign. However, Freddie who is either amnesiac or just playing the fool, failed to take into consideration that he made similar unsavoury remarks of Nigel Hughes not so long ago when he asked him to resign his leadership role in the Guyana Bar Association. Freddie was referring to Hughes’s corrupt practices in the obstruction of justice matter involving the murder of one Brian Hamilton. Are we to believe his deification story of Hughes now or the putrid one he gave of him in 2003? Take your pick; I will go for the one he made in 2003, because it was so blatantly obvious that Hughes had altered the scene of a murder while perverting the administration of an investigation. Why he was not locked up is still a mystery. It is all too clear that Freddie Kissoon is a lying, corrupt individual, one who can speak from both sides of his mouth.
Now, being a liar and a con artist are characteristic trademarks of that group of persons which reminds me of the treason matter involving his compatriot Mark Benschop. One can recall Benschop giving an alibi of him being in Linden at a rally and not at the Office of the President. He categorically refuted the government’s claim of being at the scene of the crime and an active participant in that armed invasion of the President’s Office. Interestingly enough, he can now conveniently pen the words that he was at the Office of the President with a bull horn agitating for “the people’s rights.” This compulsive liar, who has a short memory has openly perjured himself and I am making out a strong case for the police to re-arrest him so that he can atone for his misdeeds.
In Guyana today, there is a cabal who pride themselves on being the “conscience of the people” plain talkers they call themselves, a group whose lying ways know no bounds. So whenever they are cornered with the truth like the ones uttered by the president there is bound to be great uneasiness. The truth of the matter is President Jagdeo’s address at Lusignan was just a statement of fact. When truth comes in, liars are exposed which is a pretty embarrassing situation.
