Newly-admitted lawyer aspires to ‘decent advocacy’

TWENTY-three-year-old Renita Camille Singh was admitted to the bar last Tuesday following a petition made by Attorney-at-Law, Jamela Ali before Justice Diana Insanally. Singh attended The Bishops’ High School, where she attained passes in ‘A Level’ law and four subjects at the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE).
She then went on to the University of Guyana, where she read for her Bachelor’s degree in law, completing her studies at the Hugh Wooding Law School in Trinidad and Tobago.
The newly-accredited lawyer told the court that she was prepared to take her professional responsibilities seriously, adhere to all the niceties of the legal profession and its ethical rules, and serve the people of Guyana to the best of her skills and abilities.
She also said it was her desire to let the ethical rules of proper conduct protect her conscience, uphold the rule of law, and promote human rights.
It is Attorney-at-Law Renita Singh’s wishes to have the legacy of being a decent human being, and thus a good advocate for her clients.
