TWO new witnesses took the stand yesterday when the preliminary inquiry (PI) in the Neesa Gopaul murder case resumed before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry. Special Prosecutor Prithima Kissoon called Woman Police Constable Delis Brown and civilian Ravindra Naikram.
The two witnesses were also cross-examined by Defence Counsel Vic Puran.
The victim’s mother, Bibi Shareema Gopaul and stepfather, Jarvis Small, are accused of unlawfully killing the former Queen’s College (QC) student, whose dead body was recovered stuffed in a suitcase in Madewini Creek near Emerald Tower Resort.
Particulars of the joint charge against the two accused said they committed the offence between September 24 and October 2, 2010.
They have been further remanded until October 21.
