EDMOND James, 58, was remanded to prison yesterday, on charges of unlawful possession of firearm and ammunition. The defendant (no address given) appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, charged with having, on July 13, a .38 pistol and five rounds of matching ammunition without being a licence holder.
He pleaded not guilty and Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, successfully objected to bail, on the ground that no special reasons were given for the grant.
James will make his next appearance on September 26.
