PRESIDENT Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo and his government, and in reality the peoples of this great country, wish to give to this country and its great peoples, living in love and harmony for over 172 years, a gift of true love, a television station so that we can have clean programmes which do not denigrate religions, and which will teach morality and religiosity to all peoples, making us more aware of the ‘Religions of our Fathers’(as his Excellency Prime Minister Samuel Hinds most beautifully and eloquently described it),  which will also teach ‘Character Education.’
The Inter-Religious Organisation of Guyana (IRO) is unique in the world, as few countries have such.  Many I have spoken to in the world have expressed joy and excitement, that in Guyana we can sit with a number of religions and work for harmony, while teaching each other to respect each other, making our country richer, in love, in harmony, at peace with itself.
Certain nefarious elements are against the IRO and the concept of IRTV, as if the IRTV will be a monster that will demolish them, according to their statements and behaviour.  They suffer from terror and absolute horror, thinking that the government will use it before the elections, thereby to use us to win over their followers.  How petty! How stupid!  How sad indeed!  These political aspirants and nefarious conspiracy theorists are doing this country a great disservice, and the peoples need to reject them, or condignly deal with them with severe warnings.
The conspiracy theorists display their own mental and psychological disorder and chronic fear of losing their bases. One former television host and owner had done everything in his power to ridicule the idea of IRTV.  This failed businessman who uses Guyana to peddle his nonsensicalities, and to practise politics, as a failed politician as well, behave as if he is the POPE of television, agriculture, governance, as if he is even God.  He behaves as if he is the POPE OF GUYANA, declaring that he will do devious things to the Roman Catholic Church and its administrators, even taking his complaint to higher forces in Catholicism. 
How could the Catholic Church allow a drunkie and failed businessman and politician to control them?  My advice to the IRTV management and the IRO, is to invite them for one last opportunity to be part of the IRTV, or leave them out forever, but at least give the Roman Catholics one last chance.  Those negative ones and some of the Christian Faith, with political underpinnings, after the IRTV is established will run, cry and quarrel that they want time.
Some are using time slots as an excuse, as if we as members of the IRO and IRTV are bereft of justice and goodwill, where all will be given time.  Plus, not all periods will be free of charge.  All religions will be given allowances, and other times will be paid for at a reduced rate mainly to clear costs.
I wish to assure those terrified politicians and religionists that this writer and his colleagues, will never allow injustice and never allow any political entity, governing or not, to ever control us or use us.    I personally believe that the PNC and Hamilton Green, with the ilk of Tony Vieira, disagrees with the IRTV because of a mindset of control they had during their days of power, thinking the governing party will do the same as they had done with our natural resources and infrastructure.  The IRO will never allow this, except for being grateful to the Government of the day, and recording the facts for history.  The IRTV will be historical in these parts of the world, and to the credit of His Excellency and his vision. 
Some of them are so scared of Bishop Edghill, even his shadow and ‘sputum’, that wherever his name is they tremble with fear.  WHY??  The guy is ordinary but has spiritual and physical powers with him.  He listens, and he is disciplined and fair, as far as I know.  When he is wrong or errs as we all do, I correct him, and properly so, and he will listen and accept if proven wrong.  Politicians with hunger for power do not usually like such people unless they are part of their grouping.  Is it that they want the people to lose the IRTV opportunity because of their hate for Edghill? 
The opposition and nefarious ones probably believe that they will have nothing to do or give if they ever come to power.  Keep up like this, with your constant complaints, and maybe you never will taste power.  The people of this country need IRTV.
