Prashad Nagar shooter granted $10,000 bail
GAVIN Joseph, 38, who shot his reputed wife, Karen Kerr, at their Prashad Nagar, Georgetown home on August 12, appeared in court yesterday. However, before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton, he was charged only with discharging a loaded firearm within 100 yards of a public way.
Attorney-at-law Mr. Glen Hanoman, for the defence, requested reasonable bail, submitting that Joseph is not a flight risk.
The lawyer said the defendant is a licensed firearm holder and, after the incident, he lodged the weapon at a police station.
Joseph was granted $10,000 bail until November 9.
