Bail objection overruled in market wounding cases

SHAWN Robinson, 37, of Lot 2452 North Ruimveldt, Georgetown, was put on $120,000 bail, Wednesday, when he appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton, charged with unlawful wounding. The accused was not required to plead to the indictable charge, which stated that, on August 6, he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Mark Edwards.
Police Corporal Venetta Pindar, prosecuting, had objected to the grant of pre-trial freedom to Grant, on the ground that he and the virtual complainant are both labourers at Bourda Market, also in the city and Robinson would likely interfere with Edwards.
But the objection was overruled and the magistrate warned Robinson to stay away from Edwards until the case is called, again, on October 20.
