Miss Guyana World greets President during busy schedule

MISS Guyana World, Arti Cameron, yesterday paid her second courtesy call on President Bharrat Jagdeo in less than one month. Only on this occasion the Miss Guyana World crown and sash were part of her attire both of which were conferred on her at the July 31 pageant.
Cameron is now getting acquainted with her new post but is following a busy schedule of promotional activities ahead of the Miss World Pageant 2011 slated for London, England on November 6.
She will soon be headed to New York for a few fund raising activities and then to London for private training before being inducted into the Miss World Organisation one month prior to the pageant date.
Cameron is already doing her own physical preparations, some of which she shared with the Government Information Agency (GINA).
“I’ll be in the gym quite a bit. I’m trying to pick up on some kickboxing to see if I can gain some insight into some exercises that will benefit me the most,” Cameron said in an invited comment.
On July 31, the 22-year-old medical student was crowned. She also copped the sectional titles for Miss Photogenic, Body Beautiful and Best Gown as well.

Eight scholarly contestants vied for the Miss Guyana World crown which began with a July 15 launch, a swimsuit segment on July 22 at the Pegasus Hotel and the final pageant on July 31. (GINA)
