Autopsy awaited on decomposing dead woman

POLICE on Essequibo Coast are awaiting the results of a post mortem examination, to determine the cause of death of a 64-year-old woman, whose decomposing body was found in a drain not far from her home in Queenstown Village. Reports said the elderly Eunice Hubbard last visited her daughter in the village on Saturday and left there to return to her own house the same afternoon.
However, relatives who attended did not see her at the church service on Sunday and became so worried that they started a search.
Her swollen and deteriorating corpse was discovered in at St John’s Street and taken to Suddie Funeral Parlour to await the autopsy that was to be performed yesterday afternoon.
Meanwhile, speculation is rife about how she died. (Rajendra Prabhulall)
