T&T fail to conquer Jamaicans

… Guyana take first innings points
PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad (CMC) – Hosts Trinidad & Tobago failed in their bid for victory over Jamaica in the WICB Regional Under-15 championship on Wednesday.
Chasing 147 for victory in a minimum of 21 overs, the Jamaicans reached 41 for five when the match drew to a close on the rain-hit second day in the second round of matches at the National Cricket Centre.
T&T, leading by 17 runs on first innings, had reached 130 for five from 21 overs in their second innings.
A half-century, unbroken, sixth-wicket stand between Brian Christmas, not out 31 and Nicholas Pooran, not out 29, gave their innings a boost, after they resumed from their overnight total of 16 without loss.
There was no play in the other two games, as rain completely washed out the final day. Guyana took first innings points over Leewards, and Windwards also took first innings honours over Barbados.
In the third round of matches, starting today, Leeward Islands face Windward Islands at Gilbert Park, Jamaica meet Guyana at National Cricket Centre, and Trinidad & Tobago play Barbados at Wilson Road.
