A post mortem performed yesterday on the body on the body of Mahendar Ally, of Kilcoy, Corentyne, by Dr. V. Brijmohan, revealed the cause of death as hemorrhage and shock due to stab wounds. Mahendar Ally was involved in an altercation with another man on Monday last at Toopoo, Albion, Berbice, during which he was fatally stabbed.
Ally, was at a ‘bush cook’ and was stabbed when he tried to play peacemaker.
Five men are in police custody.
About 09:00hrs Ally left home with some food items for the bush cook with friends.
Some hours later he tried parting a fight between two men at the bush cook and was stabbed repeatedly.
The 34-year-old GuySuCo cane harvester was rushed to the Skeldon Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
