There has been much development in Capoey Lake

Mr. EULET Henry a resident of Capoey and RDC Councillor of Region Two, Essequibo is very much satisfied with development in Region Two and moreso his community in the Capoey Lake area. This Amerindian community is managed by elected councillors presently under the leadership of T. Deyoung.
Capoey Lake area has a population of 500, and much farmland is under cultivation, producing corn, cassava, pineapple and other cash crops.
Mr. Henry said that even his house is located in the same vicinity, where Food for the Poor donated 50 houses, a Community Centre and a Guest House. He participated fully in self-help work to make the programme a success.
The regional administration support to the community is commendable. Mr. Henry claims that the education and health facility is very good, as teachers from the Queenstown and other areas can travel in and out everyday.
The Capoey Lake is a tourist destination, and a regular ferry is available or it can be arranged by cellular phone,.
Entrance to Capoey enclave can be done through the Wyaka, by bus or the main entrance parallel to Queenstown Village. With newly built tropical oriented Guess House Mr. Henry said he and his fellow councillors hope to establish a zoo and museum of Amerindian artifacts.
Mr. Henry claims that his community is well catered for in the government trust for national development.
