A SPECIAL tribute to honour fathers! This occasion will be used to highlight the importance of fatherhood in the nurturing and development of the child, and by extension, the community.

The Rotary Club of Stabroek will salute, through music and the spoken word, the contribution of fathers to the development of our youth, and encourage further the unremitting involvement of the father in every facet of community development.

The event, at the Theatre Guild Playhouse on June 18, will be an all- inclusive affair, where patrons will be treated to excellent music by specially invited regional artistes supported by the best local talent.

An offering of a selection of fine wines will set the mood for what will be a splendid evening of Jazz, Wine and Words.

The evening will commence at 6:30pm with a welcoming ‘wine hour’, where patrons will have the pleasure of viewing and sampling an array of wines served from specially erected kiosks tended by the major distributors of wines and liqueurs in Guyana. Offerings of selected cheese and grapes will complement the evening’s fare of wines.

The entertainment begins at 7:30pm, featuring excellent music interspersed with satire, humour and social commentary delivered by renowned performer, Paul Keens-Douglas.

Patrons will enjoy more cocktails and fine wines during the intermission. The entertainment resumes with a grand performance by the regionally acclaimed jazz artiste, Ruth Osman, who will bring the curtain down on an evening of excellence.
