Fatima leads after playoffs
FATIMA House with a comfortable nine points were in the pole position of the Marian Academy Primary School Inter-House round robin badminton yournament, when the action continued at the school’s badminton courts on Tuesday. Cormoto were in second position on two points, seven behind Fatima while Guadalupe (1) and Lourdes who are yet to score, complete the four-team tournament which concludes next week.
Results from matches played on Tuesday saw Fatima defeat Coromoto 4-nil, with Priyanna Ramdhani defeating Leah Latchmansingh 21-2 in a Girls’ singles matchup while Christopher Camacho defeated Joshua Singh 21-15 in the Boys’ singles.
In the Girls’ Doubles, Maya and Ria Persram defeated Leah and Adriel Latchmansingh 21-10 before Camacho and Maya Persram defeated Joshua Singh and Leah Latchmansingh 22-20 in the Mixed doubles.
Thanks to Angelie Balram’s 21-19 Girls’ singles victory over Rebecca Ramlall, Guadalupe were able to defeat Lourdes one-nil, the same scoreline that was reflected when Lourdes played Fatima in a Girls’ singles matchup, that saw Ramlall go under to Mickelly Rahaman 21-11.
