DEPUTY Commissioner of Police/Administration, Leroy Brummel, yesterday said that the Commissioner of Police, Henry Greene, is still hospitalised, in a stable condition, and is expected to be discharged shortly. The Top Cop was rushed to a private hospital after he collapsed and his condition is being monitored.
Despite rumours to the contrary, Brummel told the Guyana Chronicle that the Commissioner is very much alive.
Up to yesterday Greene’s condition had improved slightly. He had complained of chest pains and was hospitalised before for varying heart complications.
Doctors at the private institution managed to stop the bleeding from a ruptured vessel in his leg earlier this week.
