POLICE Wednesday searched 25 buildings in the city and its environs and arrested a number of persons pending investigations into various offences including robbery under arms, break and enter and larceny, and larceny. Among the persons arrested was a prime suspect in the armed robbery committed on the two gas station employees at Mandela Avenue on Friday last. The employees were shot during the incident, according to a report.
The police also seized two motor cycles suspected to be either stolen or unlawfully obtained.
And, in a similar exercise on Tuesday, on the lower East Coast Demerara area, 14 buildings were searched and nine men were arrested for various offences, including possession and trafficking in narcotics and unlawful possession.
All of the arrested persons are in police custody assisting with investigations.
