Disrespecting the rule of law

I wish to report to the Honourable Court of Sparendaam and Her Worship, the Hon. Magistrate of the Lower East Coast District; the Commissioner of Police and the Commander of the Division involved, the Judge in Chambers and our Cabinet and Government, how certain people disrespect the rule of law, and despite being issued with a court order, and even contempt of court, they will proceed with making noise, disrespecting the law, and allowing vulgarity openly in our society. I am speaking of the owner of an entertainment site. He was served an injunction stopping noise at the site, and even got a contempt charge filed against him. He was found guilty by the Hon. Court of the Lower East Coast, yet he held shows in the past just after being found guilty, and again he is renting the premises for more shows on April 30 and thereafter.
The show being advertised is being promoted by Mori J’ Von, and is being advertised as a Sexually Explicit Comedy, with Sexy Belly- Dancers etc.  The site is an open air venue. People will be bombarded with constant nasty jokes about women’s body parts. Children will be in the audience as some parents do not think, and decent people who live in the area will have their homes blasted with incessant vulgarity, embarrassing their decent wives, teenaged and younger children and daughters-in-law and sons-in-law.
Are such promoters and even the sponsors bereft of sense and are lacking in decorum and decency to not imagine how such open shows could affect the youth, and society? To make matters worse, 90% of the jokes humiliate women and promote homosexuality. This is a matter for the police, the censor board, the Ministry of Social Services and the Minister of Home Affairs to take action. Homosexuality is illegal, in Guyana and hence, promotion of same is illegal.
Through our attorneys, we wrote previously to certain high profile companies warning them of Contempt Action, several apologised. This writer is warning the owner of this entertainment site, the promoter of the open air nasty show, and all sponsors, that we will file contempt action against everyone. ‘We’ refers to the undersigned and Citizens of Atlantic Gardens, who took this action in the High Court.
The owner of the entertainment site was found guilty of Noise Nuisance and disturbing the undersigned. Noise Nuisance is a serious criminal offence. I know of one noise maker, who care less about people’s health, the old, children studying and hard working people needing rest. He would lie to the magistrate saying, that he is ill and always has to get medicine from USA or go for heart check-ups, but when it comes to noise he can rent his place and enjoy all the noise, his heart does not interfere with him then. However, he ensures he does not bring his sixteen-year old daughter to be disturbed or to hear the vulgarities he stages.
Further, some noisemakers think because most magistrates are young and mostly females, with their big wig lawyers, they can manipulate the court, but I saw how one young and powerful young lady magistrate giving the rope to the trickster several times, and when it came time for the trial, allowed no more and gave him what he deserved, a guilty verdict.
I believe, this time that gentleman will be jailed, for despite his guilt, payment of fine, a criminal record, an injunction and contempt, he still wants to disturb people, and now with the grotesque open aired vulgarity to infect the children and the old. Incidentally the same show, at an enclosed venue, the National Cultural Centre, was marked for adults only.
Such shows should be in closed venues, with sound inhibitors and for adults only! Parents taking children to such shows should also be prosecuted. The Education Ministry and the Ministry of Human Services and Social Security have been quite active in dealing with truants. This is more serious.  The relevant ministries must send their undercover agents, and prosecute the promoter, the owner and the sponsors.
