PUNE Warriors held their nerve to beat the Kochi Tuskers Kerala by four wickets in the IPL in Mumbai.
A disastrous start for Kochi, who lost both openers for ducks, looked to have cost them dearly, but several contributions from the middle order lifted them to a defendable total of 148 for eight. Wickets at regular interval stopped Pune running away in the chase, and when Robin Uthappa’s 31 from 13 balls was brought to an end by Muttiah Muralitharan and Wayne Parnell followed him, Kochi had a real chance.
But Mohnish Mishra played a patient knock of 37 not out to steady Pune, before lashing boundaries to seal the win with seven balls to spare. (Eurosport)
