A special lecture reflecting on the contributions and legacy of former President Mr. Desmond Hoyte was slated to be held at 17:00h yesterday at the Pegasus Hotel in Georgetown. The main speaker at the event, which was reportedly organised by the ‘Desmond Hoyte Foundation’, is former army Chief of Staff, Major General (rt’d) Mr. Joe Singh. Guyana Chronicle dated March 23-2011.
First, one must ask Mr. Joe Singh if he could inform the Guyanese people on how Mr. Hoyte amassed that whopping majority of votes to make him President of Guyana.
Then Mr. Joe Singh could elaborate just a wee bit more and tell the Guyanese public of the PNC mantra of “slo fiah” & “mo fiah” and to make the”country ungovernable” after the PNC had lost at the polls in free, fair and transparent elections in 1992.
Mr. Joe Singh is asked to forget about all the so called good things about Mr. Hoyte and just make it clear to the Guyanese people on what is asked of him now.
Bet your life on it that Mr. Joe Singh will never mention a single word on any of this because Mr. Joe Singh knows his fate will be sealed just as that of Mr. Haslyn Parris, who was beaten to a pulp in the PNC’s compound for saying the elections were free fair and transparent and that the PPP had won.
The same questions will be asked of Mr. Granger, the new PNC presidential nominee.
Anyone in his right mind would think that any of these PNC men will talk openly to the Guyanese people on the PNC’s past because they know the consequences of doing so.
Some questions on Mr. Hoyte
