I READ with astonishment the letter written by Joey Jagan (Jnr.) attacking Pro-Chancellor of the University of Guyana, Dr. Prem Misir, and published in several of the daily newspapers. I must say that the media in Guyana particularly, the newspapers are allowing sheer lawlessness.
It is the same media that criticizes the Government for not encouraging freedom of expression and all that and here it is government officials, persons in public and professional offices are being criticized on a daily basis by letters and articles in the media with no attempt by anyone to shut them down or out.
Joey Jagan, I must say is one bitter individual; his parents were both humble heroes and persons well admired by all worldwide, not to mention the recognition and rewards they received for their significant contribution to the various facets of life. Joey Jagan is a total disappointment.
Joey Jagan is someone who I am sure some sections of the Guyanese populace look up to, since he is the son of two former Presidents. I think the letter was unprofessional.
We should stop dealing with personalities and start dealing with the issues and especially persons who take the time to publicly insult persons in high offices be it in the government or the Private sector should utilize their time doing constructive stuff, which can actually contribute to national development.
As for Joey Jagan, I think he should use another strategy to vent his frustration over the many issues which he has a problem with beginning with the President and Cabinet with which it is very evident that he has a personal problem.
Joey should use another strategy to vent his frustration
